Timeline: January 2024 – February 2025
Client: JMAC Construction - City of Gold Coast
Our team successfully delivered the full electrical scope for Stage 1 of the Greenheart Park development in Robina, Gold Coast. The project involved the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of high-performance electrical systems to support public amenities, pathways, and multi-use sports precincts within the 22.5-hectare site.
Scope of Works
- Sports Field Lighting System: Installation of energy-efficient LED sports lighting system designed to meet Australian Standards (AS2560) for recreational sports. Pole-mounted floodlights were integrated with automated control systems for time-based and remote operation. The system provides uniform, glare-controlled illumination for evening use, supporting activities such as soccer, touch football, AFL and community events.
- Pathway and Area Lighting: Supply and installation of LED lighting throughout pedestrian pathways, car parks, and recreational zones. Lighting layouts were designed to maximize visibility and safety while minimizing light spill and
- energy use. Amenities & Building Fit-Outs: Complete electrical fit-out of public restrooms, BBQ shelters, and community buildings, including power distribution boards, internal and external lighting, exhaust systems, and general power outlets.
- Underground Reticulation & Main Switchboards: Installation of underground conduits and low-voltage cabling to service all lighting and power points across the park. Main switchboards and distribution boards were installed with full circuit protection and capacity for future load expansion.
- Lighting Control Systems: Implementation of programmable control panels with time clocks and manual override functions for flexible and efficient lighting control. This includes zoning for sports field usage and dusk-to-dawn operation of public areas.
Key Achievements
- Delivered On Time & Budget: The project was completed on schedule in February 2025, in alignment with the City of Gold Coast’s timeline and cost framework.
- Quality & Compliance: All installations complied with AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules and relevant council specifications. Lighting systems were commissioned and tested to meet required performance criteria for safety and usability.
- Enhanced Community Access: The advanced lighting and power infrastructure enable extended hours of park use, particularly in sports and event areas. This directly supports the Council’s vision for a high-use, inclusive, and community friendly open space.
